STUDY: Admiral Rodney, 1791 (NMM)
For a brief time in the late 18th century (1787-1795) the Royal Navy
adopted
the Bias and Stand pattern of Lace. This portrait shows three
sizes of this braid in use: 1/2 on part of the cuff, 3/4 for the loops,
and 1 inch wide
for the framing. Use of various widths gives the garment a depth, or
complexity to the eye. A noble elegance is the result.

1/8 inch (3 mm) Gold Metal
Wire Russia Braid
Good quality Army russia braid is hard to come
by. To answer this supply shortage we have begun to manufacture it . Because
it is gilt metal wire it has metal true spring to it, thus looking like 'real'
military decoration trim ,opposed to low-grade high school theatre costume braiding.
Because of this both our Broadway and our military clients are now
insisting on this level of quality.
